This
dress is part of a set of costumes for a production of "Frankenstein".
Obviously, this is for one of the female characters in the
show, not for the monster!
The dress is in the Empire Style from circa 1820, consisting
of a cream, flower-print bodice, satin sleeves and a white
detachable neck piece atop a muslin skirt trimmed with white
lace.
It comes with a jacket in matching flower-print damask with
recycled fur around the neck, lapels and sleeves.
Finally, to complete the costume, there is a hat in the same
flower-print material. It has a satin cover and a velvet ribbon
to mask the seam between the bowl and the brim. It is embellished
with some artificial flowers and a pearl for the ribbon. |
