This
is part of a project I undertook a few years back. The idea
was to work in groups to create a storyline with several characters,
all of whom would be connected in some way. I've always been
interested in the styles of the thirties and forties so I
chose to focus on a sumariner and a woman from a story in
Vogue from 1945.
The pictures on this page can be quite big. If you click
on them they will open up in a new window. the first one is
a cover from a really, really old "Woman's Own"
magazine. The second is a mock-
showing the two designs in a journalistic context. Then there's
another montage, this time showing a collection of cuttings
and cartoons from fashion magazines in the forties. The fourth
picture is someone's idea of a joke and the fifth is an imitation
of an old-style fashion magazine, displaying two of my original
drawings. |
